2025 has been pretty good for Netflix India when it comes to its original series content. With just three months in, the global streaming giant has had two successful shows running on the platform and is most likely prepping for its third now with ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’.
‘Black Warrant’ came out in January and became a huge hit. This was followed by Dabba Cartel in February and now Netflix has ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ in March and going by the buzz it might strike gold once again.
‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ has multiple ingredients to make it a super spicy recipe for success. Firstly, it’s part of an already massively successful franchise and hence huge anticipations and excitement.
Secondly, the ensemble cast for the show, including Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ritwik Bhowmik, Chitrangada Singh and more, looks great and goes bang on with the regional angle as well. Also, Neeraj Pandey’s filmmaking credits add significantly to ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’.
Thirdly, the raw and rooted crime thriller genre of ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ is a big plus for the show given its immense mass appeal.
Lastly, Netflix India is doing great with the promotions for ‘Khakee; The Bengal Chapter’ keeping the intrigue alive until the show’s launch on 20th March on the platform.
So yeah, it might not have been great when it comes to original films for Netflix India in 2025 where we saw duds like ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ and more recently ‘Nadaaniyan’, it is definitely covering it up well with long format series category.
