For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the top-ranked title has been bagged by the vigilante thriller ‘Jana Gana Mana’ starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. The Telugu dubbed version of the film is also on the Netflix list.
While the second spot is held by the Hindi version of S.S. Rajamouli’s period action-adventure blockbuster film ‘RRR’, which is receiving widespread acclaim globally. And the military action flick ‘Interceptor’ currently holds the third place.
On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot has again been bagged by the globally admired supernatural horror series ‘Stranger Things’. While on the second and third spots are the legal drama show ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ and Imtiaz Ali’s crime drama series ‘She’, whose second season will start streaming from 17th June.

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK
10. Badhaai Do
Helmed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, the comedy-drama film revolves around a policeman Shardul Thakur (Rajkummar Rao), and a physical education teacher Sumi Singh (Bhumi Pednekar), and their marriage of convenience to hide their sexual orientation. But things do not go as smoothly as they had expected.
9. Radhe Shyam (Hindi)
Written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, ‘Radhe Shyam’ is a period romance drama set in 1970s Europe. The film’s plot follows the story of a gifted palmist Vikramaditya (Prabhas) who does not believe in long-lasting romantic relationships. However, things change when he falls for a beautiful female doctor Prerna (Pooja Hedge).
8. Toolsidas Junior
Set in 1990s Calcutta, the sports drama follows the story of a teenage boy named Midi (Varun Buddhadev), who decides to revive his father’s (Rajiv Kapoor) lost glory after the latter loses in an important snooker tournament. To fulfill his ambitious dream, he takes the help of former snooker champ Mohd Salaam (Sanjay Dutt).
7. Raw (Hindi)
The action-comedy movie follows a former RAW agent Veera Raghavan (played by Vijay), who finds himself in the midst of a terrorist hijacking situation while trapped inside a shopping mall in Chennai. He makes it his mission to use his skills to foil the hijacking attempt and rescue the hostages while dealing with his own past demons.
6. Jana 2022 (Telugu)
The socio-political vigilante thriller revolves around an investigation headed by an upright cop ACP Sajjan (Suraj Venjaramoodu) into the alleged rape and murder of a popular college professor. The film changes gears in the second half as it delves into the courtroom genre with Adv. Aravind Swaminathan (Prithviraj Sukumaran) taking the centre stage. The story portrays the idea of law and justice from the contrasting perspectives of the two protagonists – the cop and the lawyer.
5. Gangubai Kathiawadi
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is somewhat based on Hussain Zaidi’s 2011 non-fiction crime novel ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ (a chapter). The film follows the story of a woman named Ganga Harjivandas from Kathiawad who belongs to a wealthy family. But, after being sold to a brothel in Kamathipura, she eventually transforms into a formidable power to reckon with and becomes a madame in a red-light area.
4. Jersey
The Shahid Kapoor starrer cricket-based drama is a remake of the 2019 Telugu movie of the same name. The film is an underdog story that revolves around a gifted former cricketer Arjun, who decides to make a comeback at 36, in order to fulfill his son’s simple wish of buying a jersey. How he desperately tries to revive his sports career despite his wife’s resistance and against all odds, forms the film’s underlying premise.
3. Interceptor
The military action drama revolves around a hardened Army Captain JJ Collins, who races against time to prevent a deadly attack masterminded by a former military intelligence officer. She must use her very particular set of skills against the terrorists while stationed at the remote base in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
2. RRR (Hindi)
Helmed by S.S Rajamouli, the blockbuster period action movie ‘RRR’ features Ram Charan and Jr.NTR in the lead roles and Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. The six-part revenge drama revolves around a submissive and mild-mannered middle-class mother (Sakshi Tanwar), who investigates the mysterious death of her mute daughter (Wamiqa Gabbi). While doing that, she accidentally kills a powerful man. Thereafter, she must survive the ruthless world of crime, corruption, and dirty politics in order to find the truth. The show also features Raima Sen, Vivek Mushran, Prashant Narayanan, and Seema Pahwa in important roles.

‘Friends’ is a universally acclaimed sitcom show that revolves around the six friends played by Jennifer Anniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry living together in New York City and the vicissitudes in their interpersonal relationships formed the show’s central theme.
7. Squid Game
The show follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival game called ‘Squid Game’. The winner of the game will take home a huge amount.

The South Korean show follows the story of a woman named Shin Ha-ri, who goes out on a blind date instead of her unwilling friend. However, by a twist of fate, the prospective partner she meets turns out to be the CEO of the company where she works.
4. All of Us Are Dead
Based on the webtoon ‘Now at Our School’, it’s a South Korean show where high school students are forced to fight a zombie outbreak in a battle for survival, in order to avoid becoming the infected creatures themselves. Killing or getting killed are the only two options left for them.

The show’s plot revolves around a female police constable named Bhumika (played by Aaditi Pohankar), who is sent on an undercover mission to expose a drug cartel. Along the way and while dealing with her personal problems, the poor cop learns how her sexuality can be a game changer in her life. Its second season is slated to release on Netflix on 17th June.
2. The Lincoln Lawyer
The ten-part legal drama series follows an idealistic but troubled LA-based criminal defense lawyer Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who runs his office from inside his Lincoln Town Car. He grabs an opportunity to revive his career after he unexpectedly gets a high-profile murder case. The series is based on Michael Connelly’s book ‘The Brass Verdict’.
1. Stranger Things
The latest season of the sci-fi horror series follows the aftereffects of the devastating Battle of Starcourt at the Hawkins town in Indiana. The show’s young protagonists are now living separately and trying to move on in their lives. At this juncture, a long-buried, supernatural threat that connects everything, emerges on Earth and the Upside Down. The fourth season’s first volume comprising seven episodes was released on 27th May while the second volume with two episodes will come out on 1st July.
