Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 14th August Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the topmost spot has been bagged by Om Raut’s star-studded movie ‘Adipurush’ featuring Prabhas in the titular role. And on the second and third places of the Netflix list are the spy thriller flick ‘Heart of Stone’ headlined by Gal Gadot and the comedy drama film ‘Padmini’.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot has once again been secured by the gripping docuseries ‘The Hunt for Veerappan’. While on the second and the third spots of the Netflix list are the Punjab-set investigative drama ‘Kohrra’ followed by the Korean romantic comedy drama ‘King the Land’.

10. Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead

Based on Haro Aso’s manga series, the action movie is about how the mundane life of an overworked corporate employee is turned around after the world is hit by a zombie outbreak.

9. Faster

The action thriller movie features Dwayne Johnson as a bank robber, who decides to exact revenge from those responsible for his brother’s death. But on his trail is a relentless cop (Billy Bob Thornton) and an assassin.

8. Lust Stories 2

The ‘Lust Stories’ sequel comprises four short films directed by four different filmmakers namely R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh and Amit Ravindernath Sharma. Based on the themes of love, sex, and desire, the anthology features Kajol, Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, Tamannaah, Vijay Verma, Angad Bedi, and Tillotama Shome, amongst other cast members.

7. Hidden Strike

The action-comedy movie features Jackie Chan and John Cena in the roles of former special forces soldiers, who must escort a group of civilians through Baghdad’s infamous highway of death while dealing with numerous obstacles during their mission.

6. Maamannan

Helmed by Mari Selvaraj, the political thriller movie focuses on a father and son duo (played by Vadivelu and Udhayanidhi Stalin respectively), who clash with a rival politician Rathnavelu (played by Fahadh Faasil). The movie also features Keerthy Suresh as the female lead.

5. What Men Want

The fantasy rom-com follows the story of a female sports agents who is overlooked for a promotion she deserves. But after a strange incident, she gains the ability to hear what men are thinking which leads to an amusing turn of events.

4. Rangabali

The romantic drama movie is about a happy-go-lucky and carefree man (Naga Shaurya), whose father sends him to Vizag for further studies against his son’s wishes. After reaching there, he falls in love with a doctor, whose father objects to their relationship.

3. Padmini

The comedy drama movie revolves around a college professor and poet named Rameshan (played by Kunchacko Boban), whose life suddenly takes a U-turn after his would-be wife runs away with her lover on the day of their wedding. How the protagonist deals with the embarrassing situation forms the film’s crux.

2. Heart of Stone

The spy thriller movie features Gal Gadot as an intelligence operative named Rachel Stone, who undertakes a deadly mission to prevent a hacker from getting hold of a dangerous weapon. The movie also features Indian actress Alia Bhatt and Jamie Dornan in pivotal roles.

Helmed by Om Raut, the mythological action movie is an adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana and features Prabhas (as Adipurush / Lord Ram), Saif Ali Khan (as Lankesh / Ravana), and Kriti Sanon (as Janaki / Goddess Sita).

The anime action-adventure series follows a high school student who accidentally finds himself dealing with supernatural happenings after he becomes host to a cursed demon named Sukuna.

Based on the ‘Mech Cadet Yu’ graphic novels, the sci-fi action series follows an underdog teenager who is determined to prove his mettle by bonding with a Robo Mech in order to defend Earth from aliens.

The fictionalized series based on true incidents revolves around the causes and aftermaths of America’s opioid crisis and also focuses on the invention of OxyContin.

The Korean romantic comedy drama series follows the story of the rich heir of The King Group of hotels and how he clashes with one of the hotel’s diligent female employees, and sparks soon fly.

Set against the backdrop of dysfunctional family dynamics and delving into the darker sides of relationships, the mystery drama series revolves around an NRI, who gets killed in a Punjab countryside just a few days before his wedding. Two cops are assigned who begin to investigate the perplexing case, thereby revealing some dark secrets.
