Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 17th April Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the topmost title has been bagged by Karthik Aaryan starrer ‘Shehzada’. The second and third spots on the Netflix movies list have been bagged by the crime thriller movie ‘Kannai Nambathey’ and the heart-warming drama ‘A Man Called Otto’ starring veteran Hollywood actor Tom Hanks.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot has once again been bagged by the action thriller series ‘The Night Agent’. While on the second and the third spots of the Netflix list are the erotic thriller series ‘Obsession’ followed by the crime drama series ‘Rana Naidu’ featuring Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead roles, respectively.

10. Time Trap

The sci-fi adventure movie follows a group of students who venture into the same mysterious cave in which their professor went missing. The incident changes their lives forever after they are exposed to mind-bending time and space imbalance.

9. Sir (Hindi)

Set in the 1990s period, the action-drama movie features Dhanush in the role of a Maths teacher who attempts to transform the education system and his students in a neglected government school.

8. Ginny Weds Sunny

After an outgoing and headstrong woman Ginny (Yami Gautam) rejects an arranged marriage proposal from a desperate bachelor Sunny (Vikrant Massey), the latter teams up with the woman’s mother to impress his former crush.

7. Chupa

Helmed by Jonas Cuaron, the movie follows a teenage boy, who travels to Mexico to visit his family. After reaching there, he finds and befriends a mythical creature in his grandfather’s shed. Now, he must embark on an adventurous journey to protect the mysterious creature from scientists.

6. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga

The crime thriller movie follows the story of a flight attendant (Yami Gautam), who plans to execute a diamond heist with a friend’s help inside a plane, to get rid of a debt. But their plan goes awry when the plane gets hijacked.

5. Hunger

The Thai drama follows a talented cook named Aoy, who runs a family noodles restaurant in Bangkok. Her life takes a drastic turn when she is invited to join the ‘Hunger’ team led by an infamous yet ingenious fine-dining Chef Paul.

4. The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die

The historical drama movie features Alexander Dreymon in the role of the Uhtred of Bebbanburg, who must team up with his associates and deal with invaders and competing heirs after the death of King Edward.

3. A Man Called Otto

It’s a story about a recently widowed, bitter, and grumpy man named Otto (Tom Hanks), who attempts to take his life but is interrupted by his boisterous neighbours, thereby leading to an unlikely friendship and a drastic change in his life. The movie is based on Swedish author Fredrik Backman’s 2012 novel of the same name.

2. Kannai Nambathey

The crime thriller movie features Udhayanidhi Stalin as an ordinary working-class man who finds himself in the middle of a crime he is not even related to. How he tries to hide the crime to get out of the mess forms the film’s underlying story.

The film features Kartik Aaryan as the protagonist who learns that his biological father is an affluent businessman. He then decides to approach their biological parents and intends to protect them from imminent dangers.

The show follows a hostage situation plotline masterminded by an enigmatic genius and his attempt to pull off a virtually impossible heist with the help of his skilled team.

9. All of Us Are Dead

Based on the webtoon ‘Now at Our School’, it’s a South Korean horror show where high school students are forced to fight a zombie outbreak in a battle for survival, in order to avoid becoming the infected creatures themselves. Killing or getting killed are the only two options left for them.

8. True Beauty

The Korean romantic comedy series follows a high school student who gets bullied at her school for her seemingly unattractive looks. She learns the art of make-up and transforms herself into a drop-dead gorgeous girl and suddenly becomes very popular.

7. The Glory

The eight-part South Korean series is about a woman, who hatches an elaborate plan to exact revenge from her childhood bullies who destroyed her life.

6. IRL: In Real Love

Hosted by Rannvijay Singha and Gauahar Khan, the competition reality series follows the lives of four singles and their pursuit for true love. Will they choose going offline or opt for virtual romance?

5. Wednesday

The horror comedy series focuses on The Addams Family character named Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega). The story is about how the titular protagonist, a gothic teenage girl, hones her psychic abilities and attempts to investigate a series of brutal killings.

4. Beef

The revenge-based comedy drama series features Steven Yeun and Ali Wong in the roles of a failing contractor and an unfulfilled businesswoman, respectively. The story revolves around how the two strangers get involved in a road rage incident, which brings forth the darkest sides of their natures and consumes them.

3. Rana Naidu

The crime drama series features Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead roles of an estranged father-son duo. The titular character played by the former is the go-to guy for all Bollywood related problems. But all hell breaks loose when his father is unexpectedly released from the prison.

2. Obsession

The erotic thriller series revolves around a talented London-based surgeon’s affair with his soon-to-be daughter-in-law. But his obsession with his son’s fiancée has the potential to destroy familial relationships.

The action thriller series follows the story of a low-level but smart FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who answers a call which reveals that there is a Russian mole at the White House.
