Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 26th June Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the topmost spot has been bagged by the action-packed Extraction sequel ‘Extraction 2’ starring Chris Hemsworth. And on the second and third places of the Netflix list are Aditya Roy Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur’s crime thriller film ‘Gumraah’ and the romantic drama ‘Through My Window: Across The Sea’.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot has been secured by the high-school comedy drama series ‘Never Have I Ever’. While on the second and the third spots of the Netflix list are Hansal Mehta’s journalism-based web series ‘Scoop’ followed by the reality series ‘Social Currency’, respectively.

10. Lust Stories

The anthology comprises four short films helmed by four different filmmakers namely Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johar, and Anurag Kashyap. These stories focus on love, sex, and relationships in contemporary India.

9. Scream

The fifth instalment of the Scream film series is set twenty-five years after the brutal murders shown in the parent film. Now, a group of teenagers become the targets of a new killer who has donned the dreaded Ghostface mask.

8. Kathal

The social dramedy movie is about a female cop’s (Sanya Malhotra) endeavours to find the missing jackfruits from a politician’s garden.

7. Theera Kaadhal

The movie is about a young married man Gautham (played by Jai), who meets his former love interest Aaranya (Aishwarya Rajesh) during a train journey. Their chance encounter rekindles their old romantic relationship as Aaranya seeks solace from her ex-lover owing to her abusive marital relationship. But the incident creates ripples in Gautham’s married life.

6. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar

The romantic comedy movie follows the story of an affluent man (Ranbir Kapoor), who also works as a break-up consultant. During a leisure trip to Spain, he meets a woman (Shraddha Kapoor), and they fall in love with each other. But the story takes an interesting turn when the woman begins to have second thoughts about their relationship.

5. Extraction

When the son of India’s biggest drug lord (Pankaj Tripathi) is kidnapped by a rival drug baron, an elite Australian mercenary Tyler Rake (played by Chris Hemsworth) is hired to rescue him. Tyler accepts the impossible extraction mission from one of the busiest towns of the world: Dhaka. Directed by Sam Hargrave, it also featured Indian actor Randeep Hooda in a killer role.

4. Thrishanku

The comedy drama movie follows the story of a man named Sethu, who is planning to run away with his lover. But his plan is sabotaged when his sister also decides to elope with her lover on the very same day.

3. Through My Window: Across the Sea

A sequel to ‘Through My Window’, the romantic drama movie focuses on the new challenges which Raquel and Ares must face when they reunite on a steamy beach trip.

2. Gumraah

The crime thriller movie features Aditya Roy Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. The film’s story revolves around a police investigation into a murder case of a young man in which the main suspect is found to have a lookalike.

1. Extraction 2

Helmed by Sam Hargrave, Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the elite and fearless mercenary Tyler Rake in the action-packed sequel. The story is about how he attempts to rescue a ruthless gangster’s family from the prison.

9. XO, Kitty

The rom-com series follows the story of a teen matchmaker Kitty, who realizes that romantic relationships are more complex than she earlier thought, after she tries to reconnect with her long-distance boyfriend.

8. Demon Slayer

The anime series follows a teenager named Tanjiro, who makes it his mission to become a demon slayer after his family is brutally killed and his sister is turned into a demon.

7. Glamorous

The comedy drama series revolves around Marco, a high school graduate, who gets a high-profile job with the hotshot makeup mogul Madolyn.

6. Bloodhounds

The Korean action series revolves around how two young boxers join forces with a well-intentioned moneylender to fight against a powerful and merciless loan shark, who preys on the weak people who are in trouble.

5. Sleeping Dog

The German crime thriller series revolves around an ex-cop, who opens a closed murder case and begins to realize that it’s all part of a far-reaching conspiracy within the police and the justice departments.

4. Black Mirror

It’s a science fiction anthology television series where every episode is presented as a standalone story that is mostly set in the near future or an alternative reality. Each episode focuses on the various technologies we casually use today for the sake of convenience/entertainment etc.

3. Social Currency

The reality series focuses on a group of eight social media celebrities who compete with each other to bag the mantle of the best influencer and that too without the advantage of their fame and following.

2. Scoop

Directed by Hansal Mehta (Scam 1992), the web series follows the story of an ambitious crime journalist (Karishma Tanna), who somehow becomes the prime suspect in a shocking murder of a fellow journalist. How she fights back against all odds forms the show’s underlying plot.

1. Never Have I Ever

The high-school comedy drama series revolves around the life of Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), an Indian American teenage girl and focuses on her relationships with friends and her romantic interests.
