Netflix India’s Top 10 Films &Series to Watch in the 8th November Week

Netflix India’s top 10 films and series list is back with some interesting additions, omissions, and changes in ranks. For Netflix’s top ten films list, the top spot this week is held by the recently released marital drama ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’.

And the Sivakarthikeyan starrer film ‘Doctor’ has bagged the second spot on this week’s Netflix list. Furthermore, both ‘Army of the Dead’ and its prequel film ‘Army of Thieves’ are still on the list and are in the tenth and third places, respectively.

On the Netflix top-ten TV shows front, the South Korean show that is being loved by fans across the world, has once again unsurprisingly bagged the coveted top spot. Yes, you guessed it right. The show is none other than ‘Squid Game’.

Another worthy inclusion is that of ‘Narcos Mexico’, whose third and final season started streaming on Netflix from 5th November. Moreover, the evergreen sitcom show ‘Friends’ has still managed to find a place on this week’s Netflix top ten TV shows list.

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. Army of the Dead

Because of ‘Army of Thieves’, its parent film ‘Army of the Dead’ has also made it to this week’s list due to the sudden interest. ‘Army of the Dead’ revolves around a group of mercenaries (led by Dave Bautista), who accept a dangerous mission to execute a virtually impossible heist in the zombie-infested Las Vegas.

9. A Simple Favor

A single mother Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) who runs a parenting vlog makes friends with a mysterious upper-class woman Emily (Blake Lively), whose sudden disappearance makes Stephanie investigate the matter on her own.

8. The Harder They Fall

It’s a Western drama featuring an ensemble that includes Idris Alba, Jonathan Majors, Zazie Beetz, and Regina Kings, amongst others. When outlaw Nat Love learns about his enemy being released from prison, he assembles his old team to avenge the death of his parents.

7. The Wedding Guest

The cross-continental action thriller film follows a mysterious man called Jay (played by Dev Patel) who travels from Britain to Pakistan with a plan is to kidnap a would-be bride (Radhika Apte), but things do not go as anticipated and together they travel to India where another surprise awaits them.

6. Venom

The parent film to the recently released movie ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, ‘Venom’ follows the story of a disgraced investigative journalist (played by the dependable Tom Hardy) who gains superhuman abilities after becoming the host to a powerful alien entity. They team up together to protect Earth from an army of symbiotes who plan to invade the planet.

5. Doctor (Telugu)

The Telugu version of the Tamil film Doctor has also made it to the Netflix list. Doctor is a black comedy thriller movie that revolves around a pragmatic military doctor (Sivakarthikeyan) who gets involved in a kidnapping case of the niece of his fiancée. How he teams up with the family members and uses his intellect to track down the kidnappers to rescue the girl, forms the rest of the film’s plot.

4. Love Hard

It’s a romantic comedy film that follows a Los Angeles-based writer who falls in love with a man through a dating app and decides to make a surprise visit to the East Coast town where he lives but finds out that she has been deceived.

3. Army of Thieves

It’s a prequel to the zombie heist film ‘Army of the Dead’ helmed by Zack Snyder. The film has been directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, who also reprises his role as the German safecracker Ludwig Dieter from the parent film, but this time as the film’s lead actor. The prequel is set six years before the events of ‘Army of the Dead’ and amidst the onset of the zombie apocalypse. In the film, Ludwig, a bank teller, is assigned a mission by a mysterious woman, to execute a virtually impossible heist.

2. Doctor (Tamil)

1. Meenakshi Sundareshwar

A romantic comedy that features Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dasani in the lead roles. The film is based on the struggles of long-distance relationships faced by a newly married couple.

10. House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths

On the tenth place of the Netflix top ten series list is the three-part true-crime docu-series ‘House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’. This documentary series by ‘Parched’ creator Leena Yadav revolves around the unsettling truths and various theories relating to the deaths of eleven people of the same family in the Burari area of Delhi in the year 2018. The show is currently rated a decent 7.6 on IMDb.

9. Friends

‘Friends’ is a universally acclaimed sitcom show that revolves around the six friends played by Jennifer Anniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry living together in New York City and the vicissitudes in their inter-personal relationships formed the show’s central theme. The cult show started airing in the year 1994, spanning ten seasons comprising 236 episodes that were aired over a period of ten years.

8. Little Things

The Indian rom-com series ‘Little Things’ features Dhruv Sehgal and Mithila Palkar in the lead roles. The show revolves around a couple living in a live-in relationship. The fourth and final season of the show was released on Netflix on 15th October.

7. Money Heist

The much-admired show is back again on the top series Netflix list. The show comes recommended by Binged bureau and we have rated it a solid 7.5/10. ‘Bigger stakes, bigger thrills & even bigger cliffhangers’ is our review’s bottom-line. Volume-1 part-5 of the show began streaming on Netflix from 3rd September while the second volume will release on 3rd December.

On the sixth place of the Netflix top ten series list is the romantic psychological thriller ‘You’. The series follows a dangerously obsessed bookstore manager who can go to any lengths for a romantic relationship with the women he falls for. The third season of the show started streaming on Netflix from 15th October.

5. The Good Doctor

The fifth season of the engaging medical drama ‘The Good Doctor’ recently commenced streaming on the SonyLIV platform. The plot revolves around Shaun Murphy – an autistic surgical resident with savant syndrome as he relocates to a prestigious California-based hospital.

4. Narcos Mexico

The third and final installment of ‘Narcos: Mexico’ is ostensibly set in the 1990s and revolves around the war that breaks out after the fall of the Guadalajara Cartel empire headed by Felix. The third season witnesses the emergence of new and independent cartels and their fight for survival.

3. Locke & Key

The third spot this week is bagged by ‘Locke & Key’. It’s a supernatural mystery-horror show that revolves around the three Locke siblings who relocate to their ancestral home along with their mother after the mysterious death of their father. They soon find many magical keys inside the house which they think are somehow related to their father’s death. The second season of the popular show started streaming on Netflix on 22nd October. The show has currently got an IMDb rating of 7.4.

2. Call My Agent: Bollywood

On the second place of the Netflix top ten series list is ‘Call My Agent: Bollywood’. The Netflix series is an Indian adaptation of the French series ‘Dix Pour Cent’. The show revolves around four talent agents (played by Aahana Kumra, Rajat Kapoor, Soni Razdan, and Ayush Mehra) and their endeavor to save the agency after the founder’s untimely demise.

1. Squid Game

The show follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival game called ‘Squid Game’. The winner of the game will take home a huge amount. The show is currently rated 8.1/10 on IMDb and has a 94% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 62 ratings. Despite being quite brutal and repulsive, it’s being called by many a compelling watch. Not for the weak of heart though.
