Okay guys the much awaited ‘Dr. Stone’ and ‘The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited’ have just dropped on Netflix, so anyone who has been waiting for these to come on the OTT giant can stop reading and start streaming. For the rest, we will give an insight about both anime.
‘The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited’ is a story of two detectives who go around solving crimes together. Daisuke Kambe is a detective with an extreme amount of wealth thanks to his extremely wealthy and influential family. He finds the most straight-forward ways to solve a crime from using the latest tech and gadgets which cannot be afforded by the crime division to bribing criminals for information. He is often accompanied by his AI butler, HEUSC. Haru Katou is another detective, who is young and passionate but also quick to temper. These two unlikely characters are paired together by the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters.
This series is a satire set in the topsy turvy situation, where a cop bribes criminals for answers and uses that information to catch criminals. This reminds us of an alternate universe where Bruce Wayne decided to be a cop instead of being a vigilante and used his money and influence to solve crime.
‘Dr. Stone’ is set in 5738 A.D. For many this would mean a lesser mortality rate, highly advanced technology, never seen before creations and discoveries, etc. But that is not the case in this anime. It has been more than 3700 years since a mysterious flash of light petrified nearly all human life, turning them into stone. An 18-year old genius named Senku is suddenly revived to find himself covered by wilderness – with not a single trace of human civilization found anywhere. It was as if human beings never ever existed.
In a completely different sort of dystopia, where humanity has been thrown back into the stone-age, watch this anime/infotainment as we see the journey Senku creates for himself as he tries to save humanity. This show is semi-infotainment because we are shown the basic necessities to survive (in some situations, that is) as well as giving us information about how certain things are made.
