One of the most popular writers in the history of South Korean Television, Kim Eun-sook’s upcoming limited Netflix Series ‘The Glory’ stars Song Hye-kyo and Lee Do-Hyun in lead roles. The streamer dropped first look poster and teaser trailer recently and the reception was blockbuster. Netflix just dropped its trailer today and it wouldn’t be a reach to say that the show is going to be a thrilling revenge saga.The 8 episode limited series packs an ensemble cast and will stream on Netflix worldwide on December 30th, 2022.
Writer Kim Eun-Sook Flaunts a blockbuster resume with shows like Secret Guardian, The Heirs, Descendants of the Sun, Guardian : The Lonely and Great God and Mr Sunshine etc. All of them were huge hits and this time she has explored Revenge Thriller genre.The Glory reunites her with her Descendants of the Sun lead actor Song Hye-kyo after a gap of 6 years.
The trailer starts with Song Hye Kyo’s voice-over where she says ‘From now on everyday will be a nightmare’. A scorned tigress who had made up her mind for revenge and would stop at nothing. She is shown as someone who is scheming a lot to pull down her perpetrators and make each and every one of them fall on her feet for mercy. She tells one of them ‘lets’s wilt and die together’. Song Hye Kyo seems to have had a ball shooting for this show and her talent is visible from the trailer glimpses.
The Glory is a revenge story that begins with a high school student who dreamt of a career as an architect. Due to brutal school bullying and violence,she is forced to drop out from school. Years later, her perpetrator gets married and has a kid. She becomes the homeroom teacher of her main bully’s child and starts her revenge towards the perpetrators and bystanders of her bullying days.
The Glory is written by Kim Eun-sook and directed by Stranger series fame Ahn Gil-ho. Song Hye-kyo and Lee Do-hyun are the main leads of the show. Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon and Jung Sung-il also appear in major supporting parts. Stream ‘The Glory’ on December 30th on Netflix India and worldwide.
