Netflix has dropped the teaser trailer for its upcoming Japanese film ‘In Love and Deep Water’, a suspenseful romantic comedy written by acclaimed creator Yuji Sakamoto. ‘In Love and Deep Water’ will premiere globally on Netflix on 16th November, 2023.
‘In Love and Deep Water’ is written by one of Japan’s leading writers Yuji Sakamoto who has won Best Screenplay Award at 76th Cannes for ‘Monster’, ‘Mother’, ‘Beautiful Bouquet’, ‘Tokyo Love Story’.
The film is set on the MSC Bellissima, a massive luxury cruise ship headed for the Aegean sea. Suguru, a devoted butler of a luxurious cruise ship, sees his life turned upside down the day he encounters Chizuru, a woman who claims that their respective partners are on the verge of cheating. Chizuru tries to convince him that they have to stop the cruise and go back to Japan to prevent their partners from cheating when one night, the two of them, along with five other passengers, witness a dead body floating in the rooftop pool. Strangely, all but Suguru pretend they haven’t seen anything. While trying to uncover this mystery, Suguru and Chizuru are gradually drawn to each other.
Ryo Yoshizawa as Suguru and Aoi Miyazaki as Chizuru play the lead roles in ‘In Love and Deep Water’. The star-studded Japanese cast also includes Yoh Yoshida, Rinko Kikuchi, Kento Nagayama, Yuki Izumisawa, Aju Makita, Hatsunori Hasegawa, Ken Yasuda, Saki Takaoka, Yunho and Rumika Ogai.
Directed by Yusuke Taki and screenplay from Yuji Sakamoto, ‘In Love and Deep Water’ is produced by Netflix and Nikkatsu/ django film. ‘In Love and Deep Water’ will launch globally on Netflix on 16th November, 2023.
