Tendo Nagenda, vice president of original films at Netflix in an interview to a media agency said that they are looking for something similar to Harry Potter and Star Wars franchise. One with fantasy, adventure, action and all things exciting.
After a couple of years into producing it’s original content collection, Netflix is probably now ready for bigger budget projects that it can turn into even bigger franchise. Moreover, the platform is more into ingenious ideas rather than adaptations or inspirations to make it stand apart from others.
With the rapid growth of subscriber base in the past few months, Netflix will now aim to cater to a larger number of people with investment into ventures that will serve its wider audience, including families that co-watch.
