Netflix announced that a new Korean drama series ‘Start-up’ will start streaming on the platform in October. ‘Start-up’ follows the stories of young passionate individuals coming from varied backgrounds on their journey to build a name for themselves in the business world.
‘Start-up‘ is directed by Oh Choong-hwan known for his works like Hotel del Luna, While You Were Sleeping, Doctors. Park Hye-ryun (Dream High, I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, and While You Were Sleeping) will act as the writer for the series. The starcast for the series includes Bae Suzy, Nam Joo-hyuk, Kim Seon-ho and Kang Han-na.
‘Start-up’ on Netflix will revolve around four young adults –
Dal-mi (Bae Suzy), who has vast experience in all sorts of part-time jobs, doesn’t belong to a fancy background but dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs. She is full of energy and passion for her work.
Nam Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk) was a math genius and thus the pride of his family as a child but has now become a disgrace for them as his company Samsan Tech is on the downfall since past two years. He finds out that Dal-mi mistakenly remembers him as her first love, so he decides to work his way up in hopes of turning that misunderstanding into reality.
Han Ji-pyeong (Kim Seon-ho), is known as “the Gordon Ramsay of investments” for his surprisingly good investment skills and sharp tongue. He works as a senior investment manager at a venture capital company.
Won In-jae (Kang Han-na) is a “second-generation ‘chaebol’ CEO who has everything people desire – good education, beauty and money. But her background seems to be working against her in the startup world, as she struggles to create success on her own and be acknowledged for her skills.”
Each of them is trying to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and goals while facing the difficulties coming their way. The common factor among them is that they all start their start-up journeys from a place called Sand Box.
‘Start-up’, produced by Dragon Studios, will be an exciting saga of these aspirational young people and will premiere exclusively on Netflix this October.
