Netflix’s Narcos Mexico Season 2 Gets a Release Date, and It’s This!

After a prolonged wait by fans, Netflix has finally revealed the release date for Season 2 of Narcos Mexico, the spin-off series of its hit show, Narcos.

The much-awaited season will arrive on Netflix on February 13th, 2020.

It is also confirmed that Narcos Mexico Season 2 will see the return of Diego Luna, who plays the key character of Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, leader of the Guadalajara Cartel and founder of the modern Mexican drug trade.

Another key protagonist from the first season, DEA agent Kiki Camarena, played by Michael Peña, was abducted and murdered in the final episode of Season 1.

A lot more will be seen of DEA agent Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy) in Season 2, as Kiki’s murder drives the DEA to launch all-out war against the Mexican drug cartel in an operation named Operation Leyenda.

Narcos: Mexico also takes its inspiration from real events, just as its sibling, Narcos. While Narcos focused on the rise and fall of the Colombian drug cartel, Narcos: Mexico recounts the rising power of the Mexican drug cartel in the late seventies and eighties.
