Netflix’s teen comedy-drama ‘Never Have I Ever’ is returning for season 2 and this time things are going to get more complicated for Devi. ‘Never Have I Ever’ season 2 will launch globally on Netflix on 15th July, 2021.
The trailer for the sophomore season has been released by Netflix and this time it looks like there will be a lot more fun, drama and sass. The video begins with Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) weighing out the pros and cons for her two prospective boyfriends, Ben (Jaren Lewison) and Paxton (Darren Barnet). Helping her choose the right guy are her best friends Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) and Eleanor (Ramona Young).
Devi wants to make the best out of her last chance of getting an American High School boyfriend but as usual she is confused. Meanwhile she realises that she is dating two guys at the same time. On one hand there’s Ben with whom her intellectual level matches and on the other there’s Paxton who is super hot.
We also get glimpse of the mom and daughter bickering between Devi and Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), who catches her kissing Ben! Major twist comes when a new cool and pretty Indian student Aneesa (Megan Suri) joins their class whose confidence and radiance pose an immediate threat to Devi.
But Devi gets reminded by Kamala (Richa Moorjani) that not only is she a tough one but can also cross whatsoever hurdle comes her way. We also get a visual of Dr. Chris Jackson (rapper Common), a suave and debonair dermatologist, who seems to develop a bond with Nalini.
A new love life, a new classmate and new complications give Devi more ways to make courageous moves and questionable decisions. How she goes about controlling the drama in her life and bring herself out of the mess she created is what Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’ season 2 is going to be all about.
‘Never Have I Ever’ on Netflix is created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher who have executive produced it alongside Howard Klein, David Miner and Tristram Shapeero. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Jaren Lewison and Darren Barnet among others will reprise their roles in season 2. Megan Suri (‘Fresh Off the Boat’, ‘Atypical’) and rapper Common (‘John Wick: Chapter 2’, ‘Ava’) are the new additions to the cast.
‘Never Have I Ever’ season 2 will premiere globally only on Netflix on 15th July, 2021.
