Brace yourself before you start reading this because this is going to make you go – Oh My God!
Science Fiction, Suspense, Psychological Fiction, and Thriller ALL IN ONE is what the upcoming series ‘The One’ on Netflix all about! It is based on a novel by John Marrs of the same name, adding it to the huge list of book adaptations. This project was first announced by Netflix in 2018 and is finally going on floors this year in March 2021.
‘The One’ is about a new and unique way of finding your soulmate. Ambitious Rebecca, CEO of MatchDNA, introduces the idea of finding true love by using science, a person’s DNA. She matches peoples’ DNA to help them discover their perfect partner. The idea is to match people who were genetically supposed to fall in love with each other. As simple and fascinating it sounds, it actually is pretty explosive. The show will follow weird situations that come as implications of this new matchmaking service and also make us realise the importance to falling in love naturally.
The trailer of Netflix’s ‘The One’ was released and as seen, it’s opening line is – “A single strand of hair is all it takes to be matched with the one person that you are genetically guaranteed to fall in love with.” Wow! This show might actually mess with your mind and you will never think of love and relationships in the same way again.
‘The One’ consisting of 8 episodes will release on Netflix on 12th March. It is created and written by ‘Misfits‘ creator Howard Overman, whose production company, Urban Myth Films, is producing in association with Studio Canal. The show stars Hannah Ware, Zoë Tapper, Dimitri Leonidas, Amir El-Masry, Lois Chimimba, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Pallavi Sharda, Jana Pérez, Diarmaid Murtagh, Gregg Chillin, Wilf Scolding, and Stephen Campbell Moore among others.
