The opening season of the fantasy adventure series ‘One Piece’ premiered on Netflix a couple of weeks back and received positive feedback from critics and audiences. And ever since its release, it has consistently been trending on the top spot on the streaming platform.
Previously, it was revealed that the scripts for the show’s second season were already complete, and that Season-2 could be ready for release within 1-1.5 years. But in case you’ve been waiting for a concrete update on the show’s renewal, then the wait is over now. Because precisely two weeks after its premiere, ‘One Piece’ has now been officially, albeit unsurprisingly, renewed for a second season at Netflix.
The action-adventure series is a live-action adaptation of the popular manga series of the same name. The story revolves around the seafaring adventures of a young pirate captain Luffy (Inaki Godoy), who is on a mission to find the titular treasure called One Piece. And if he is able to find it with the help of his crew, then he can become the King of the Pirates. But they are not the only ones searching for the mythical treasure.
On the reviews front, ‘One Piece’ Season-1 is ‘Certified Fresh’ and has got an impressive critics’ score of 85% on reviews aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes. And the audience score is even higher at 95%. Moreover, on IMDb, the series has got a brilliant user rating of 8.5/10. So, it has got a big thumbs-up from both viewers and critics.
