Netflix or HBO; Check The Platform With Max Noms At Golden Globe

The nominations for highly reputed Golden Globe Awards are now out. While Indians are rejoicing at the inclusion of RRR, digital platforms are playing their respective games to win the maximum number of awards. Gone are the days when only production houses had war amongst themselves. Even the originals by major streaming platforms count.

Regardless, this year belonged to Netflix and HBO Max. The latter usually lags behind Netflix due to its limited availability in only selected parts of the world. But when it comes to impact, quality and popularity, HBO Max is no less, if not more.

So both the platforms are at a tie this year with 14 nominations each. Surprisingly, it is the highest too by any streaming platform.

The third platform is surprising because it is Hulu. They managed to bag 10 nominations in total.

FX, ABC, and Apple TV+ occupy the 3rd and 4th positions each with 9 and 6 nominations respectively.

However, maximum nominations don’t guarantee maximum wins. This year itself, “The Power Of The Dog” had double-digit nominations at Oscars but won only one award.

Below is the list of all the major platforms with their number of notifications.

HBO Max – 14

Netflix – 14

Hulu – 10

FX – 9

ABC – 6

Apple TV+ – 6

AMC+/AMC – 2

DisneyPlus – 1

Paramount Network – 1

Showtime – 1

Starz – 1
