Netflix Orders Sequel For Norwegian Monster Drama Troll!

A Sequel for ‘Troll’ is now in the works and Netflix has announced that the director and crew would return for the second installment of the franchise.

‘Troll’ came out last year and became tremendously popular owing to its unique execution style and storytelling. It became the platform’s most viewed non-English movie of all times and gathered a total of 10.3 Million views in the first 91 days. The movie also ranked in the top-10 charts of 93 countries in total. The humongous popularity of the film led the makers into thinking for a sequel. The shooting for ‘Troll 2’ will start next year and it will hopefully be on the floors in early 2025.

Troll told the story of a huge monster that has been awakened by an explosion in the Norwegian Mountains. The Troll had been asleep there for centuries and now it intends to wreak havoc upon civilization. A paleontologist and a group of fearless men are united to stop this Troll from causing mass destruction.

The movie was directed by Roar Uthaug, the filmmaker who is also credited with directing Norway’s first disaster thriller ‘The Wave’. Roar Uthaug will be directing the sequel as well. Writer Espen Aukan will join Uthaug for writing the screenplay and the movie will be produced by Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud under the banner of Motion Blur.

The plot and other details of the movie have not been revealed yet. Fans are excited for the movie and Troll 2 is certain to be another international hit for Netflix.
