Netflix was slated to premiere its next Indian Original movie after Guilty on 20th March. But in a surprising move, not only has it deferred the release to 27th March, but has also announced expansion of the cast, adding new cast members in Javed Jaffrey and Boman Irani.
Javed Jaffrey plays father to the lead protagonist, Rumi, essayed by Prit Kamani. Rumi is a starry-eyed youngster who dreams of becoming a movie star. His interactions with the two girls in his life, Mallika (Nikita Dutta) and Persis (Shirley Setia), make him understand that some dreams are nothing but delusions, while some are worth fighting for.
The trailer is utterly delightful. Manisha Koirala, as Rumi’s mother, is a joy to watch on screen, with all Parsi quirks in place. The rest of the cast also looks so at home playing their respective characters that you forget they’re simply ‘acting’.
If there is one person missing in the trailer, it’s Boman Irani. And we can’t wait to find out what his role is in this lovingly shot ode to the adorable Parsi community of Maximum City.
