Netflix has almost locked talks to host the worldwide premiere of Season 3 of the hit Israeli drama, Shtisel. Israel’s leading broadcast network, Yes TV, will premiere Shtisel Season 3 in that country later this year. Production on the latest season of the popular show, halted in March owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, is now underway again.
Shtisel is set in the backdrop of Jerusalem. It tells the story of a conservative Haredi Jew family in Jerusalem, which navigates the dictates of living in a conservative Jewish society, and at the same time, balancing the demands of modern life. Season 3 picks up the narrative four years after the occurrences of Season 2.
Netflix had picked up the earlier seasons of Shtisel too, which are already streaming on the platform. Shtisel Season 3 will most likely premiere worldwide on Netflix early next year.
Shtisel stars actress Shira Haas, who received much acclaim and an Emmy nomination for her role in Netflix’s ‘Unorthodox’. She portrayed the character of a woman caught in the swirl of living in an ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jewish family. Also starring in Shtisel are Michael Aloni, Doval’e Glickman, Neta Riskin and Sasson Gabai. Shtisel is created by Ori Elion and Yehonatan Indursky. It is directed by Alon Zingman. It is a Fremantle creation, via its subordinate production company, Abot Hameiri.
