Netflix has announced ‘That ‘90s Show’, a spin-off of the popular teen show ‘That ‘70s Show’ with original series creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner returning to the creator’s chair once again.
Also returning for ‘That ‘90s Show’ are Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp to reprise their roles as Red and Kitty Forman. The stars will also serve as its executive producers.
Netflix’s official longline for ‘That ‘90s Show’ reads, “Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs and rock ’n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.”
‘That ‘90s Show’ on Netflix will be a multicam ten episode series with ‘That ’70s Show’ alum Gregg Mettler serving as the showrunner. Melter will create and executive produce the show for Netflix with Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner and Lindsey Turner who have co-written the show.
Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner under The Carsey-Werner Company will also serve as executive producers for ‘That ‘90s Show’. Rest of the cast and release details for ‘That ‘90s Show’ are yet to be revealed by Netflix.
