Netflix Reportedly Developing ‘The Themis Files’ Live Adaptation

The live adaptation of One Piece has indeed bolstered their confidence, as the streaming giant plans something special. If you’re a fan of The Themis Files book series by Sylvain Neuvel, take a deep breath, as Netflix is gearing up for a live adaptation.

While an official update is pending, the persistent rumors can’t be dismissed. Several individuals involved in the project have listed it as a work in development.

As of this July, Andrew Norman assumed the role of director for Original Studio Film at Netflix. He’s currently leading an exciting movie project, but it’s still in its early stages, and no names have been confirmed yet.

Now, if you’re not familiar with the book series, it’s a trilogy published between 2016-2018, offering a compelling blend of sci-fi, apocalyptic fiction, and politics.

The trilogy comprises “Sleeping Giants,” “Waking Gods,” and “Only Human.”

What’s the storyline, you ask?

The Themis Files trilogy by Sylvain Neuvel delves into humanity’s extraordinary discovery of a buried alien robot. It all begins with “Sleeping Giants,” where we follow Rose Franklin’s descent into the metallic hand and her subsequent quest to uncover its mysterious origins. In “Waking Gods,” the world grapples with the awakening of more robots, leading to worldwide chaos.

In “Only Human,” the story takes us into Earth’s interaction with an advanced alien civilization, exploring the complex dynamics of diplomacy, the profound impact of alien knowledge, and the ethical decisions humanity must confront. These engaging narratives are narrated through interviews and documents, blending science fiction, political intrigue, and moral dilemmas.

As it’s in the development phase, no release date or window has been confirmed, but stay tuned to Binged, and we’ll keep you updated.
