Netflix Reveals Cast Of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ S3, Includes A Glowing Cube!

By Binged Bureau - Jan 12, 2021 @ 02:01 pm

Prior to the release of the much anticipated Netflix original series ‘The Umbrella Academy’ season 3, the streaming giant has revealed the new cast that will be added to the show. This new group of cast are part of the so called ‘Sparrow Academy’, a glimpse of which had been revealed in the finale of the last season of ‘The Umbrella Academy’.

In the second season of Netflix’s popular series, we saw ‘The Umbrella Academy’ returning to the future and discovering some consequences of their past. We find out that Sir Reginald is alive and well and it is he who reveals the shocking existence of The Sparrow Academy.

The Umbrella Academy sees five people, and a green coloured glowing cube, and Netflix has now been revealed who and what they are. Among the Sparrows, at no. 1 we have Marcus played by Justin Cornwell (‘Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey’, ‘I Am The Night’). Marcus is ‘a natural born leader that oozes confidence and keeps the family together who is equally as charming as he is chiseled and colossus’.

At no. 2 comes Ben played by Justin H. Min (‘After Yang’, ‘The Umbrella Academy’), but wait he is not the same Ben you know from previous season, ‘this Ben is scheming, tactical and vicious, determined to gain his status as leader’. We have Britne Oldford (‘The Path’, ‘Hunters’) playing Fei at no. 3, who ‘sees the world in a special way. She’s typically the smartest person in the room and willing to negotiate – yet, once you cross her, there’s no turning back’.

No. 4 is Alphonso played by Jake Epstein (‘Designated Survivor’, ‘Suits’). He is ‘a scarred crime-fighter with a caustic and biting sense of humor who enjoys verbally berating his enemies, almost as much as he enjoys a good pizza and a six-pack of beer’.

At no. 5 there is Sloane played by Genesis Rodriguez (‘The Fugitive‘, ‘Big Hero 6’). She is ‘a romantic dreamer eager to see the world beyond the academy. Even though she feels tied down to her family, Sloane has plans of her own…and she may just act on them’.

Jayme played by Cazzie David is at no. 6. She is ‘a loner with a fear-inducing snarl you’d be wise to avoid at all costs. She doesn’t say much because she doesn’t have to’.

And finally at no. 7, the most intriguing of them all, is Christopher, an ‘existential dread inducing psykronium cube’. It is ‘a trustworthy, loyal telekinetic cube that can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear without so much of a warning’.

These new members will join Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Ritu Arya and Adam Godley who will all be reprising their roles in Netflix’s ‘The Umbrella Academy’ season 3.

Created by Steve Blackman and based on the comics of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, ‘The Umbrella Academy’ on Netflix is a superhero-comedy-drama series. The series has been executive produced by Jeff F. King, Keith Goldberg, Mike Richardson and Jesse McKeown alongside Blackman, Way and Bá.

Netflix’s ‘The Umbrella Academy’ season 3 that was officially confirmed last November, will begin production in February, 2021 in Toronto and will be a ten episode series.
