Netflix has dropped the first look of Ryan Murphy’s upcoming limited series ‘Halston’, on the occasion of birth anniversary of the legendary fashion designer, on whom the series is based. The streaming giant also announced that ‘Halston’ is all set to premiere on Netflix on 14th May, 2021.
The first look for ‘Halston’ starring Ewan McGregor in the titular role, has all that vintage polaroid feel and features different characters that will form part of the limited series. Other than McGregor, the cast for Netflix’s ‘Halston’ includes Krysta Rodriguez as Liza Minnelli, Rebecca Dayan as Elsa Peretti, Bill Pullman as David Mahoney, Gian Franco Rodriguez as Victor Hugo, David Pittu as Joe Eula, Sullivan Jones as Ed Austin, Rory Culkin as Joel Schumacher, Kelly Bishop as Eleanor Lambert and Vera Farmiga as Adele.
Based on the book ‘Simply Halston’ by Steven Gaines, the Netflix limited series ‘Halston’ is directed by Daniel Minahan (‘Six Feet Under’, ‘Deadwood: The Movie’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ , ‘Game of Thrones’) and written by Sharr White. Minahan also serves as the executive producer for the series.
The story will follow Halston as he leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that’s synonymous with luxury, sex, status and fame, literally defining the era he lives in, 1970’s and ‘80’s New York — until a hostile takeover forces him to battle for control of his most precious asset… the name Halston itself.
Netflix’s ‘Halston’ is executive produced by Ryan Murphy (‘American Horror Story’, ‘Hollywood’, ‘Ratched’), Ian Brennan, Alexis Martin Woodall, McGregor, Eric Kovtun, Sharr White, and Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films.
Ryan Murphy’s limited series ‘Halston’ will premiere on Netflix on 14th May, 2021.
