This Netflix series takes place in an alternate version of the events that took place in John Boyega’s Pacific Rim: Uprising. The helmer of the first PR entry and Academy Award winner, Guillermo del Toro, and Travis Beacham serve as the creating duo of the show. On the other hand, Hiroyuki Hayashi and Jae-hong Kim handle the directional duties. And Netflix has disclosed the release date of the upcoming Polygon Pictures product. Netflix has revealed that the second and final season will hit the streaming service on April 19. However, we do not know about the number of episodes in the forthcoming Pacific Rim instalment. The last season treasured seven action-packed episodes.
Season 1 takes place in Australia where the people are suffering the consequences of the high-scale battle between Kaiju and Jaegers. The former is a race of monsters that originated from the Pacific Rim and took control of the entire continent. On the flip side, humans created humongous high-tech robots equipped with explosive weapons called Jaegers to defend themselves. And the brother-sister duo of Taylor and Hayley Travis are the series’ protagonists. Their parents left them in their teenage years to fight against the dangerous Kaiju. But they never returned. However, fate leads Taylor and Hayley to a deserted Jaeger, Atlas Destroyer. They both activate it and plan to find their lost parents amidst the ongoing war.
In Season 2, Taylor and Hayley will get accompanied by bOy, an unusual creature consisting of the characteristics of both human and kaiju. Plus, a young assassin, Mei, will join them on their quest. This bizarre looking team has no alternative but to travel through a risky region operated by the Sisters of the Kaiju. These fanatics strongly believe that bOy is their long-lost leader. They are ready to do whatever it takes to make him a member of their dark community.
