Netflix will be working with Oscar nominated director Charles Shyer (Alfie, Father Of The Bride) for its next feature film. The film will be an adaptation of the eponymous New York Times best selling novel ‘The Noel Diary’ by Richard Paul Evans whose rights have been bagged by Netflix.
The film’s story follows a best-selling author Jocab Turner who when “returns home at Christmas to settle his estranged mother’s estate, he discovers a diary that may hold secrets to his own past and that of Rachel – a beautiful young woman on a mysterious journey of her own. Together, they embark on an adventure to confront their pasts and discover a future that’s totally unexpected.”
Apart from featuring in the film, ‘This Is Us’ star Justin Hartley will also be executive producing it along with Norman Stephens. Other cast members for ‘The Noel Diary’ include Bonnie Bedelia (Die Hard, Parenthood) and Treat Williams (Everwood, Hair).
‘The Noel Diary’ has been written by Charles Shyer, known for his works like The Parent Trap and Private Benjamin, in association with Rebecca Connor and David Golden (Dangerous Lies).
This new Netflix adventure-mystery film is being bankrolled by Johnson Production Group’s Timothy O. Johnson and ‘Love, Guaranteed’ and ‘Dangerous Lies’ producers Margret Huddleston and Stephanie Slack.
Netflix hasn’t revealed anything as to when the production will begin or about the estimated release dates for ‘The Noel Diary’.
