The last quarter of 2019 saw the arrival of new streaming platforms like Apple TV Plus and Disney Plus. There was a lot of hype surrounding them with many speculating; they will end the dominance of Netflix in the market.
It turns out Netflix is doing more than well for itself. The company has recently revealed its quarterly statement, and it shows the same in monetary terms. Netflix has posted big profits and gains for the last quarter of 2019 in spite of new entrants.
The original content of Netflix is doing the trick for it. The movies like The Irishman, Marriage Story and The Two Popes, and series like The Witcher and You 2 have kept its audience interest alive. The viewers seem to be more than content with these big names projects.
The most significant gains for Netflix have come internationally. It is the reason why an emerging market like India (belonging to the South-East Asia segment) is becoming so important. It doesn’t mean it is doing poorly domestically but is able to sustain well despite the competition.
With many original content and sequels to popular franchises planned to come ahead, Netflix seems assured of its space and profits in the coming quarter, as well. As usual, we will update it when they are out.
