“The journey begins in the morning from the world of the living into the world of the dead” is the perfect summation of what ‘Secrets of the Saqqara tomb’ the Netflix documentary aims to bring to the audience.
I guess it would be to cliché to say that this title is another example of Netflix and its love for mind-bending documentaries so let’s go ahead and find out this will turn out to be such a great watch.
‘Secrets of the Saqqara tomb‘ revolves around the tomb of ‘Wahyte’ which has been perfectly preserved, untouched and unlooted for around 4,000 years. It chronicles the journey of the archaeological team that discovered this site made up of an entirely Egyptian team.
According to the team, the kind of items and relics that have been recovered from this site could entirely change the perception of what people knew about the ancient Egyptian culture, economy and religion.
‘Wahtye’ is said to be the priest of purification who lived at the time of the 5th dynasty, and this documentary will help give us a more comprehensive insight into his life. The tomb has been opened up for the first time in 4000 years, and some of them have even said that maybe 2020 was not the best time to do that.
All jokes apart the kind of knowledge that one can procure from this site seems to be much larger than what anybody can think of and one of the members even goes on record to say that “Finding Wahtye and his mother, his wife, his 4 children will be better than finding gold.”
‘Secrets of the Saqqara tomb’ is set to release on October 28 on Netflix so don’t forget to add this on your watchlist as it promises to shed light on several mysteries.
