Darlings is now streaming on Netflix India. The film starring Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew is a jackpot for Netflix as the platform has not produced anything exceptional in the past few months.
Of course, series like Masaba Masaba, Mai, She Season 2 will not help them to gain an edge.
But, Darlings certainly have that potential. It is a dark comedy with exceptional actors and a promising storyline.
Great thing is, that they have promoted the film well and there is a real buzz around it.
A few days back, #BoycottDarlings was trending on social media and it also helped the film remain in buzz all day long.
But now since the film is streaming, the content and reviews matter more than anything else. Thankfully for the makers, even they are in the favour of Darlings.
But now, Netflix is using different ways of promoting the film. They are tagging certain fan pages in their streaming updates.
Don’t bother those tweets won’t be reflected on their Twitter page but our hawk’s eye rarely leaves anything unnoticed.
So this is what Netflix is doing and in a way, it is good. Currently they need to bring as many views as they can and this step can help them do so.
