Netflix has been striking gold with the crime thriller genre lately. After the success of ‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ and ‘The Indian Predator: Diary of a Serial Killer’, the next release in the genre the OTT giant is acing in is ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’, again based on a real story.
The series is a limited biographical crime drama series that will follow the story of the American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. A sex offender, cannibal, and many other gut-wrenching things, the series follows the murders he committed, and the story moves as if it’s told through the lens of his victims.
The trailer of ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story‘ released packs a solid punch. It’s intriguing, gruesome, suspenseful, and gives that creepy chills while the slow music plays in the background. Peter Evans, popularly known for playing mutant Quicksilver in the X-Men movies and reprising his role in the hit Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Wandavision’ plays the infamous serial killer. From the body language to dialogue delivery, Evans essays the role of the serial killer in the 2-minute trailer with worrying perfection and gives a solid performance.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the series will be a treat for the fans of the genre. Two of the latest offerings from Netflix India in the crime thriller genre had got positive responses from the audience and critics. With no major platforms focussing on crime thrillers as of yet, Netflix has made a niche of sorts for itself.
Boasting an ensemble cast of Richard Jenkins, Penelope Ann Miller, Michael Learned, Shaun J. Brown, and Colin Ford, all 10 episodes of the ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ will be released on 21st September on Netflix.
