Netflix’s The Minimalists takes on the journey of two friends Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, who built their lives around the minimalist movement and how it has changed their life for the better. It is directed by Matt D’Avella, and you probably know him for his YouTube channel.
We are currently in the age where anything that we want can be delivered to us within a matter of days and even 24 hours if you are willing to spend the extra bucks. Still, all this convenience can take a toll as people have started to hoard more than they need to show others that they have actually made it in life. Netflix’s The Minimalists aims at exposing these fallacies.
How many times have you taken a step back to think and assess “How much of my stuff do I really need? How much of the stuff is adding value to my life?” it is high time that the world realises that the memories are not in the material things that we possess but are situated in a place deep within us. No one can take that away from us.
Dialogues such as “Chasing the American Dream cost me so much more than money.” Will linger on and make you think about what this possession obsessed world has done to us.
Many personalities come on film to talk about how their life has changed as soon as they adopted to the concept of minimalism is another aspect which will make you understand why removing unnecessary things from your life can be a therapeutic experience.
Netflix’s ‘The Minimalist: Less is Now’ will stream on Netflix on 1st January.
