Most of us have seen Ghostbusters or at least have heard of Ghostbusters and what a cult following it has and probably will always have that going on forever. We also know famous Korean shows have become over the years and especially in 2020, we all love binge watching those. Now, Netflix has come up with a combination of both. Not exactly the rip off Ghostbusters, but almost with a similar concept. It is named “The Uncanny Counter” and based on a popular South Korean webtoon. The show is the result of the pact with Netflix and South Korean agencies to bring more content forward.
The show is 16 episodes long and is set around the lives of a group of demon hunters who are called “counters”. The show will flow through the group as well as how they tackle each and every spirit coming from the underworld. These are the evil spirits of people who still have their bad deeds left to be completed. Each “counter” possesses a super human ability which helps them in their demon hunting game and also in making it a team. All this keeps on happening while they maintain and manage their noodle soup store that is façade to keep the world shop and also so that no one knows their dangerous jobs of dealing with demons and spirits.
While they keep on their fights with demons and spirits, they realise it’s not just their area or place. Now is the time to save the world. With funny actions and dialogues accompanying the show, this less of a horror movie and more of a comical drama. This can be added to a leisurely watchable list for sure. Directed by Yoo Sun-dong, the series will be airing on Netflix on the 28th of November.
