Netflix has placed order for the series adaptation of the 2014 novel ‘My Life With the Walter Boys’ written by Ali Novak. The young adult novel will be adapted into a 10-episode series with each episode of around 50 minutes duration.
‘My Life With the Walter Boys’ follows the story of sophisticated and always perfect Jackie Howard whose life turns upside down when she loses her family in a tragic car accident. She now has to move from Manhattan to rural Colorado to live with her new guardians – the Walters.
Moreover, she now has to survive with eleven boys and a girl (who also acts as a boy), who are people of exact opposite personalities compared to what Jackie is. Will she be able to fit in while still being who she is?
Melanie Halsall will adapt this coming-of-age drama for Netflix and will also serve as its showrunner and executive producer. Producer of both parts of ‘The Kissing Booth’ Ed Glauser will also executive producer the series via Komixx Entertainment. Sony Pictures Television International Productions will produce the show in association with Kamixx Entertainment.
‘My Life With the Walter Boys’ joins Netflix’s list of other young adult, coming-of-age dramas. These include many popular shows like ‘Ginny & Georgia’, ‘Atypical’, ‘Dash & Lily’, ‘The End Of The F***ing World’, ‘Never Have I Ever, ‘Outer Banks’, ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ and many more.
Further information about the show’s cast, crew and release date are still under wraps.
