Netflix has unveiled a new feature on its platform – a Top 10 listing that will show its subscribers the 10 most-watched shows/movies each day on the streaming giant. The list will be updated daily, to give viewers an idea of what other viewers are watching…and liking.
Cameron Johnson, Director of Product Innovation at Netflix wrote in a blog post about the new feature, “When you watch a great movie or TV show, you share it with family and friends, or talk about it at work, so other people can enjoy it too. We hope these top 10 lists will help create more of these shared moments, while also helping all of us find something to watch more quickly and easily.”
The new feature will hopefully help audiences sift through the humongous amount of content available on the platform, and zero in on the most popular and best content to watch.
Netflix had initially released the feature only in Mexico and the UK, for testing purposes and to understand viewer response to it. Happy with the overall result, the platform has decided to roll out the listing feature in the USA and the rest of the world.
We, at Binged.com, certainly think a Top 10 list will be quite a useful feature going forward. Watch this space for more updates on this story.
