Netflix is going to be simpler, easier and more intuitive going forward at least that’s what the global streamer claims as it launches a new set of features designed to elevate the TV experience.
In the coming months and weeks Netflix will gradually roll out these features around the world where the TV homepage will have an all new refreshed look. These features include:
New Navigation:
The tabs like search, home, movies, shows will now appear on the top and center instead of being hidden away in the left corner of the screen. This will make these shortcuts more visible and easier to access. Also, a new tab “My Netflix” will appear alongside these shortcuts that will feature everything related to you like your list, reminders, continue watching and more.
More Informative:
This feature from Netflix is designed to help you make an informed choice by providing additional information at a glance like notable reviews, accolades, top content in lists, highly rewatched, leaving soon and more.
Better Recommendation:
Netflix has updated its recommendation system making it more responsive on viewer’s moods and interest in the moment.
Refreshed Outlook:
The whole homepage will now have a new outlook which will be more clean and modern. The attempt is to elevate the overall experience of watching Netflix on TV.
In addition to the TV, Netflix is also adding two new features for the mobile app users. Firstly it is introducing an OpenAI powered chatbot experience starting with a search feature on iOS that is a small opt-in beta. This will let subscribers have a personalised chat and discover titles according to their preference.
Second mobile app feature that Netflix is planning to test in the coming weeks is the vertical mobile feed filled with clips of Netflix shows and movies just as one sees on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. And if the title interests the viewer, they can just tap to watch the whole show or movie immediately, add it to My List, or share with friends.
What do you think of these new features and which one’s your favourite?
