Both Netflix and Disney+Hotstar have released their calendar for September 1st half. This fortnight has tons of releases, particularly by Disney+Hotstar. The major streaming platforms are focussing mainly on foreign titles and the Indian content is not very interesting per se.
Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives is extremely cringeworthy and hardly anyone would watch it. But that way, Hotstar is even more interesting and is bombarding more content.
Cuttputlli and Big Boss Tamil are the poster boys of Indian content on Hotstar for the upcoming fortnight while for Netflix it is Katteri, Diary Of A Serial Killer and Ek Villain Returns.
Thus, the only promising Indian title on Netflix is Indian Predator: The Diary Of A Serial Killer. It has all the quintessential elements of a chilling and terrifying documentary which is highly required for the platform to deliver.
But the real deal is still left to discuss. We are talking about one of the most followed things in our country which is cricket. Asia Cup is going on and millions of people are sticking to their devices for watching the game.
Hotstar provides them the platform to do so and their viewership is very clearly shown during the game.
Thus this fortnight single-handedly belongs to them only and perhaps Netflix should work more on bringing a diverse slate.
