Netflix’s 1st Half Super Bowl Ad: Mix of Already Released Footage

The Netflix ad released during this year’s Super Bowl event, which is watched by millions of people across America and the World, was dominated by footage already released earlier.

The first part of the ad focusses on second long previews of new movies headed to the streaming giant during 2022. The footage of these previews was already released earlier this month. It promises a new movie to be released every week. It showcases upcoming movies such as Knives Out 2 (Daniel Craig), Day Shift (Jamie Foxx) and Me Time (Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Hart). It also has footage of various other stars of major movies to be released by Netflix during the year. Knives Out 2 is one of the biggest releases for Netflix during 2022 and fans would have loved some additional footage.

The second part of the ad features Ryan Reynolds and Director Shawn Levy’s The Adam Project. Netflix had released a long teaser earlier this week with fans expecting additional footage or an extended trailer to be released during the Super Bowl event. However, the ad largely features a scene already part of the released teaser. The Adam Project unites Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds for the second venture after last year’s The Free Guy. This is also the third movie Ryan Reynolds is starring in for Netflix – the first two being Underground and Red Notice.

Although the ad is exciting and creates a buzz, lack of any new footage for The Adam Project or any other major movie (such as Knives Out 2) is bound to disappoint a few fans.
