Netflix’s “Alma Matters” Is Sure To Bring Back Memories Of This Film

By Binged Bureau - May 11, 2021 @ 08:05 pm

Netflix’s next docuseries releasing on the 14th of May, is about a premier Indian institute, one that produced geniuses like Sundar Pichai, Arvind Kejriwal, Arjun Malhotra, Rono Dutta, Vinod Gupta and so many more. If by these names, you got some clue, well then let us clear it for you. Yes, we are talking about IIT Kharagpur. Netflix’s upcoming series “Alma Matters: Inside the IIT Dreams” is dedicated to the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

The show launched its trailer back in April and it introduced and showed us glimpses of so many things that one for sure will be excited to see what actually goes on inside. Along with the trailer, came a glimpse of stand-up comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath, who we believe will be an essential part of this series as he himself is a graduate of the institute.

As one watches the trailer and goes through the points shown, one will definitely be reminded of a certain movie that was released quite recently. The movie when it released, immediately became one of the best movies of the year and even one of the most realistic ones. It starred an array of actors and if you are still confused, well then let us just tell you. The movie that you will be reminded of is 2019 released “Chhichhore”.

Well, first of all it is very obvious because the incidents, the characters in “Chhichhore” were actually inspired by director Nitesh Tiwari’s life and his friends in IIT Bombay. So, we already have a striking similarity here. Both of these are focused on IITs.

“Chhichhore” starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Prateik Babbar among others, without doubt is one such movie that stays etched in our brains for a long, long time. The movie showed us friendships, engineering college hostel life, the struggles, the want to stay in power in the hostels and college, the competition and so much more. Well, Netflix’s “Alma Matters” will do the same but in a way that’s completely and totally real.

Viewers with this docuseries will definitely be able to witness what happens and goes around inside the gates of this massively prestigious institute. So, get ready for a ride with this brand new series. We believe this series isn’t just for students but for everyone including them, so that they can know the actual truth and struggles behind everything.
