Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai Plans Spin-off And More Seasons

Though there was a time when some budding OTT platforms gave tough competition to Netflix, the black and red brand definitely reached its glory period in 2023. Especially with the diversity that they showcased, Netflix now plans to expand its anime fandom.

Blue Eye Samurai co-creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green recently stated that they will be extending the universe of Blue Eye Samurai. The plans include more seasons of the show and also some spin-off shows in the future.

The show revolves around Mizu, a blue-eyed samurai in 17th-century Japan, disguised as a man, she seeks vengeance against those who branded her an outsider.

With a quirky cook and a haughty swordsman, her quest unveils secrets, sparks intrigue, and forces her to confront inner demons in a thrilling tale of identity and belonging.

This soon became a good hit last year, with 8.8 ratings on IMDb, and fans were expecting some future updates about the show.

As the show is already renewed for a second season, the makers do plan to extend the renewal. “In our heart of hearts, we want to tell at least three, four seasons. We know the end of this story. We would love to continue.”, states Michael Green.

Amber Noizumi and Micheal Green also put forward the desire for some spin-off shows. “We know exactly where this goes in the future. We are just hoping that the audience for original content shows up and necessitates further storytelling,
