Netflix’s Character Posters For ‘The Archies’ Are Drab & Dreary

Netflix has dropped the first character posters for its much-talked-about upcoming Indian original movie ‘The Archies’. The Zoya Akhtar created film is an Indian adaptation of the popular comic books of the same name. The movie is being produced in association with Archie Comic Publications, Inc.

Revealing the character posters for ‘The Archies’ is a good move from Netflix, in order to stay relevant and in the public eye. But why do the character posters for individual characters in The Archies have to be so dull and dreary? What’s with the drab looks of the actors, each devoid of any sort of charm and charisma? Sheesh!

Mihir Ahuja looks decidedly dull as Jughead, while Suhana Khan as Veronica lacks the haughtiness and sassy chutzpah of the latter. Khushi Kapoor fails to give off the girl-next-door vibes of everyone’s favourite Betty. Ditto with Agastya Nanda as Archie. The least said about the looks of Vedang Raina as Reggie, Yuvraj Menda as Dilton, and Dot as Ethel, the better. To be honest, each actor looks mediocre and unworthy of the iconic characters they are slated to play.

In fact, it won’t be an exaggeration to say that Netflix has effectively and absolutely killed all excitement and curiosity for The Archies with these posters. If this is how Netflix plans to promote The Archies further on, then consider the movie as good as doomed.
