Another year, another brilliant season of Cobra Kai. Well, it was supposed to drop in 2020, but Covid 19, so we can let it slide for now. The fourth season of Cobra Kai was already announced before the martial arts comedy drama web series dropped its latest (third) season, but reports have come out stating that the brilliant TV series has started production. But wait, that’s not all.
Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List who portrays Tory Nichols and Carmen Diaz have been upgraded from recurring cast to season regulars alongside heavyweights Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Rubio has been part of the show since season 1 – appearing in a total of 16 episodes, while List has been on the show since season 2 and appeared in 15 episodes total. Also Dallas Dupree and series newcomer Oona O’Brien have been tapped to take up recurring roles as well.
The web series took the number 1 spot for Netflix worldwide when it dropped its third season back in January 1st 2021. The official announcement of the production of the fourth season was made by Sony Pictures Television a few hours ago, on their twitter handle (and other social media platforms), a few hours ago. Check out the tweet at the end of this article.
The series has been planned upto 6 seasons according to the Cobra Kai showrunners. Back in November, one of the creators of the TV series, Jon Hurwitz had tweeted out saying that we can expect the release date of Cobra Kai Season 4 to be a year after Season 3 drops. So now, Cobra Kai fans (and us) are currently expecting the hit phenomenon will reach the streaming platform during Jan 2022, especially since production is already underway.
The first three seasons of Cobra Kai are currently streaming on Netflix.
