Netflix has unveiled the official trailer of Code 8 Part 2, starring Robbie Amell and his real-life cousin, Stephen Amell. The streaming giant dropped the sequel’s teaser during its ‘Geeked’ event. Now, we have a pretty solid trailer, which also reveals that the sequel will come out on February 28.
Written and directed by Jeff Chan, Code 8 Part 2 will revolve around the fictional Lincoln City. This place is home to different types of people and among them, some special people with special abilities reside. The sequel to Code 8 (2019) will also focus on a teenage girl who wants to seek justice for her brother, who died at the hands of some corrupt cops. However, things take a wild turn after she witnesses the cover-up, becoming a prime target of cops along the way. She receives the aid from an ex-con to save herself.
The first Code 8 turned out to be a surprising hit. Upon its release on Netflix in April 2020, it soon entered the US’ Top 10 Netflix list. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film stands with a ‘fresh’ rating of 81%, based on 21 reviews.
Part 2 marks the return of Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell, who play Garrett Kelton and Connor Reed, respectively. Alongside the duo, we will see talents like Sirena Gulamgaus, Altair Vincent, Alex Mallari Jr, Jean Yoon, Aaron Abrams, and more.
Stephen Amell recently teased the possibility of Code 8 Part 3, which may receive the official greenlight from Netflix soon.
