Netflix’s Havoc: All Brawn, No Brains? Early Reviews In

Netflix’s Havoc treasures its leading man, Tom Hardy, and The Raid series helmer Gareth Evans. These two should have guaranteed the movie’s success as a solid action blockbuster. But critics seem to think otherwise. How about checking out some of the first reviews of Havoc before planning to watch it on Netflix?

According to early reviews, Havoc should have been much more than what we got. Expectations and hype around the film were extremely high, given the reputation that Hardy and Evans bring with them. The duo should’ve worked wonders with this latest action thriller. Instead, the result feels somewhat underwhelming.

While the blood and action sequences in Havoc have been met with acclaim, the same can’t be said for the rest of the movie, particularly the storyline and characterisation, both of which critics and viewers say lack depth.

In other words, the movie relies far too heavily on its bone-cracking, skull-smashing, and blood-spilling action, leaving very little room for human drama, emotions, or strong character development.

Tom Hardy’s performance as the rugged and bruised detective, Walker, has been praised by audiences. The rest of the cast, including Jessie Mei Li, Forest Whitaker, and Timothy Olyphant, also turn in solid performances.

Overall, Netflix’s Havoc is a decent, action-packed popcorn entertainer, but it falls short of reaching the heights of The Raid movies. We’d suggest keeping your expectations in check with this one. Stay tuned for more updates.
