Everybody’s favorite teen heartthrobs Nick and Charlie, the centers of attention in Netflix’s Heartstopper, a coming-of-age romantic series are on their way back to our screens. The warm tones of the season announcement video are in perfect coordination with the audience’s expectations of the upcoming episodes.
Both previously streaming seasons were well received. The depiction of diversity in terms of sexuality, identity, and romantic relationships was lauded by hoards of young viewers. Not only is Heartstopper an aesthetically pleasing visual and audio experience, it has a big queer friend group at the crux. This resulted in waves of positive affirmation towards younger members of the LGBTQIA+ communities.
Season 3, all set to premiere sometime during October 2024, exclusively on Netflix, will focus more on characters like Tao and Tori as they navigate their way through hobbies, interests, and shared experiences. The new season will also delve deeper into the themes of sexual tension and love, from the vantages of young adults.
Multiple entertainment outlets have reported that the new season might feature an appearance from Jonathan Bailey, aka Lord Anthony from Bridgerton, another Netflix original heartthrob. Series creator and director, Alice Oseman stated the forthcoming season will showcase our favorites facing their biggest emotional challenges yet.
Either ways, we know now that the warmth of autumn is not the only thing to look forward to this fall!
