In this golden age of Monster movies, here comes another one to join the gang. Netflix’s upcoming film ‘Love & Monsters’ is a fusion of Stranger Things, Zombieland and every Kaiju movie ever; along with a hint of emotions from Ronald Emmerich’s Independence Day, as we felt from its engaging trailer.
The 137-second long trailer of Love And Monsters shows a teenager Joel, portrayed by Dylan O’Brien, losing everything including his family in a monster apocalypse. As he searches for his love interest, Aimee, played by Jessica Henwick, he joins a group of survivors led by MCU’s Yondu aka Micheal Rooker to clean up the monsters and their mess. The trailer itself is full of adventurous and creepy stuff, but surely takes one on a refreshing journey.
Netflix’s Love And Monsters could easily be described as a lighthearted popcorn flick with jaw-dropping visuals with all the right ingredients to become an enjoyable and relatable flick in this pandemic world.
The trailer promises a lot of fun and action which resembles Zombieland in many ways. As Love And Monsters is a brain-child of Shawn Levy – who brought us Stranger Things – it’s only logical that this is going to be a treat to watch.
Love & Monsters reportedly got a limited release earlier in October, 2020 in only 387 theatres because of the pandemic. This time, however, it’s getting a wider international release on Netflix on 14th April, 2021, and we are hoping to witness another one of those Hollywood visual extravaganzas. Incidentally, Love And Monsters has been nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 93rd Academy Awards this year.
As Joel and the gang goes in pursuit of the love of his life and his exciting journey of survival on Netflix, it promises to be an adventure of a lifetime.
