Netflix once promised entertainment at your fingertips. Now it feels like a fortress where even paying customers struggle to get in.
Ever since the infamous password-sharing crackdown, things have only gotten more complicated. While people eventually adjusted to not sharing accounts freely, what they didn’t sign up for is being blocked from their own devices.
Here’s what’s happening.
You try to log in on your TV, the one that’s already been added, and Netflix says you need to verify again. You switch to your phone, the one linked to your subscription, it tells you “temporary access.” You try verifying your account, and it sends you in loops, asking for more verification without ever solving the issue.
All this, even when you’re the one who’s paid for the account. And god forbid you travel or have devices in different locations, Netflix decides that’s suspicious activity and locks you out. There’s no proper OTP flow, no clarity, just chaos.
For a platform that was once known for its ease of use, this is a mess. The balance between security and user experience is completely off. What’s worse? It feels like Netflix is punishing loyal users with a system that’s built on distrust.
At a time when other platforms are becoming more accessible, Netflix seems to be building walls around its own house.
And the irony? It’s not even stopping account sharing. It’s just making life harder for the ones actually paying.
