“Mother”, a Japanese movie is all set to release on Netflix on the 3rd of November. The title will make you feel so much of warmth but the film is totally opposite of what “warmth” is. A gruesome, dark tale of motherhood is reflected in this movie and will make you go through all sorts of emotions in this movie. Initially released on the 3rd of July, “Mother” is set to come to international audiences through Netflix.
A single mother and her son, trying to make ends meet by doing odd jobs go through a rough time. An easiest way out for the mother is to have intimate relations with different men from all over the place. Not a care in the world, the dearest mother forgets to look out for her lonely son and indulge in all forms of lust. Anything that gives her momentary pleasure. The teenage son on the other hand is lost; he only has his mother who he looks out to the most. He is deprived of the love that needs to come from a mother; he lacks the warmth that he sees in other’s mother child relationship. Even though his mother is right there, he finds her miles apart mentally.
Things take a turn for the worst as one day he comes home with blood on his shirt. Later on they find out that he has murdered two of the most important people in the mother-son duo’s life. The mother is at her wit’s ends and she realises that she has let her son drift away from her when he needed her the most.
The movie reflects on what happens when there is sheer negligence in the parent-child relationship. When the child has no one to look for and is lost at a young age. It is though shown in a scary sense it can never be not true. The movie is also based on a true incident that rocked Japan, with its gruesome details.
The story will be an emotional piece even though it comes with a dark and gory climax.
