Mike Tyson is returning to the ring at 54 years of age, to face 51 year old Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match in California. As he prepares for the charity event, he is also returning to the small screen in an unnamed documentary, which will revolve around his legendary career. This boxing documentary is set to come out on Netflix.
Most of the documentary is still under wraps, but the documentary will feature his current transformation and how he has also evolved in a matter of months for this upcoming fight. While discussing both the past and present with his trainer, Rafael Cordeiro, Tyson got emotional when trying to provide an answer about what happiness means to him.
Boxers tangle with Lady Death when they get in the ring, but Tyson says that he isn’t afraid of dying. Living has seemed more complicated for him, while boxing had always made more sense to him. Living is a journey and required courage says “The Baddest Man on the Planet”. He even acknowledges that he could probably die during training, during the prep. It’s all part of the process for the one who steps into the ring.
Mike Tyson hasn’t stepped into the ring for 15 years, since he lost to Kevin McBride back in 2005. He was also the first boxer to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles simultaneously, which opened up various adversities he faced in his career. The documentary is set to feature all of this as well as the mistakes he committed during his illustrious career.
Mike Tyson has been promoting both his exhibition fight as well as his upcoming documentary on social media platforms, for sometime now. The matches will be officially streamed online through the Video Sharing App Triller, which should be available in India as well.
