Netflix’s New Israeli Drama ‘Hit and Run’ From Fauda Team Is John Wick On Steroids!

Netflix dropped the trailer for their upcoming US-Israeli action thriller web series, ‘Hit and Run’ on their official YouTube page. The premise of the film has “John Wick-like elements” – with the film following a man who is out for revenge – except for the action to take place in Tel Aviv, Israel instead of the United States. The trailer is shot in a theatrical rectangular resolution, which enhances the experience for those watching it. Check the aforementioned TV series trailer at the end of this article.

The trailer starts off with a woman lying on the floor, giving us the illusion that she is dead. A few seconds later, it turns out she is a ballet dancer (or a dance performer of some kind) and is currently performing in a theatre filled with people. Her husband is among the audience, watching her performance with contentment. While she is performing, the trailer cuts to a different scene showing the wife returning home, covered in blood. Another few seconds later, we witness the TV series title’s action – the hit and run.

As the wife is crossing a road carrying a couple of coffee cups, she turns back to talk to someone outside of the camera’s periphery and then the car accident happens. The car driver keeps on going through, without stopping, telling us that this accidental death, may have not been so “accidental”. When the husband goes to the morgue to see his dead wife, he is overcome by rage because of the hit and run.

The police suspects that the killer might be a person from her past, but the husband knows that’s not the case. It turns out the husband was a trained killer and retired from his old hob for his wife. Now, he has to go back to his old life to protect the rest of his family and for revenge. Mainly for revenge; all the while, the aspect ratios of the trailer varying, making the impact of this promotional video, even more prominent.

This Netflix original series is expected to drop in Netflix soon. No official release date has been given so far.
