After the smashing success of its Japanese series like Alice In Borderland and Burn The House Down, Netflix is all set to premiere a new series from Japan on its platform. Titled ‘House Of Ninjas’, the series will premiere on Netflix worldwide on 15th February, 2024.
The Netflix series is set in modern day Japan, and centers on the ancient practice of Ninja warfare. ‘House of Ninjas’ follows the dysfunctional Tawara family, the last living ninja clan in Japan, but which has retired from their formidable Ninja lives after an incident in the past. However, a series of looming threats to the nation compels them to return to their roots and go back to undertaking shadowy missions, in order to avert the crisis.
The official Netflix synopsis for House Of Ninjas reads – “Years after retiring from their formidable ninja lives, a dysfunctional family must return to shadowy missions to counteract a string of looming threats”.
House Of Ninjas stars Kaku Kento in the lead, who is also one of the executive producers of the series. Other cast members include Eguchi Yosuke, Kimura Tae, Kora Kengo, Makita Aju and Miyamoto Nobuko. Dave Boyle has directed House Of Ninjas.
As per Netflix, House Of Ninjas fuses “spy elements of ninjas taking on top secret missions with a family drama about a group of colorful family members”. The story of the series is written by Kaku, Murao Yoshiaki and Imai Takafumi, while the screenplay is by Boyle, Yamaura Masahiro, Oura Kota and Kimura Kanna. Toho Studio has produced House Of Ninjas for Netflix.
