Netflix’s Next K-Drama Treat: Korean Star Song Kang’s Navillera!

Netflix will very soon premiere a new treat for fans of Korean dramas – the much-talked-about K-Drama Navillera! The series is an adaptation of the popular Korean webtoon of the same name, created by Hun and Ji-min. Navillera will premiere on Netflix on March 22, 2021. The streamer is letting go of its all-episodes-at-one-go streaming routine for Navillera. Instead, one episode each will release every Monday and Tuesday, for six consecutive weeks. Navillera Season 1 comprises of 12, one-hour episodes.

The cast of Navillera is solid. Song Kang, the star of hit Korean shows such as Sweet Home and Love Alarm, plays the lead in the Netflix drama. Park In-hwan, Na Moon-hee and Hong Seung-hee, among others, make up the rest of the cast. Song Kang plays a 23-year-old ballet dancer, who is at a low point in life. Park In-hwan plays a 70-year-old retired man who finally decides to put himself before family, and pursue his dream – that of learning ballet dancing.

The series centres on the beautiful bond that forms between the two men, and how the younger man gains confidence and inspiration from the older one. Given the plot and the cast, Navillera certainly seems like a Korean drama to look forward to. Netflix is doing well to bring Korean dramas with diverse narratives for fans of the genre.

Navillera is directed by Han Dong-Hwa and written by Lee Eun Mi. It is jointly produced by production companies Studio Dragon and The Great Show.
